Word of the Month - Woods

To begin making this little quilt, I rummaged through my stash of hand-dyed fabric. I found a piece that I snow-dyed last year and thought it looked like the sun peeking through the trees. And although I wanted to create something sort of John Muirish (sp) depicting the tall redwoods of California, it was hard to do inside of the required 12" X 12" size.
"Woods"

This became more of a picture of what I see outside my dining room doors. The "Word" of the Month challenge is forcing me to play outside the box and I'm enjoying every minute of it!

It's lovely. I thin k it is great that you are challenging yourself to tryout new things and play.

Thanks, Shasta. It's troubling when the daily routines of life get in the way of creative activity. I'm thankful I can escape every Monday to meet with the ladies at Play Group. I'm interested in how you make time for your "craft".
