Word of the Month - Measure

As many may know, the Northern Virginia area where I live was covered in many inches of snow during the January 2016 Blizzard. It's crazy what happens in this area during a snow storm. We received record number of inches in a 24-hour period. The snow flakes were light and fluffy and we never lost power. The area snow plows did a terrific job of clearing streets in our neighborhood. What else could I make for this word-of-the-month project but this..........

The fabric was, again, from my stash of Ice-dyed fabrics. I played with the button foot on my new sewing machine and the 12 snowflake buttons were put on by machine in no time. I then glued on the  Swavorski crystals (that don't show very well in this picture). I'm thankful for the Playgroup monthly challenge that allows me to dig through my memory to recall the various techniques I've learned through the years. It's amazing what I've remembered ( and forgotten)!

That is very clever - a wonderful way to fulfill the challenge, have something to record and remember your year and brush up on those old skills.
