I did purchase some Hoffman Fabric so I can participate in the Hoffman challenge. You can find out more about this by going to http://www.hoffmanchallenge.com/currentchallenge.html
I have selected my fabrics and have begun to piece a quilt using them, but I can’t reveal it here until mid-summer. I’ve been working on the project for about 10 days and am quite pleased with the results so far.
I received an email from an old acquaintance, Wendy. A few years ago, Wendy sent me her dad’s ties to make Priority Alzheimer’s art quilts to help raise funds for Alzheimer’s research for a cure. You can see all of the art quilts I made at this website http://www.alzquilts.org/edwards.html
Wendy has a friend who wants me to make some more Alzheimer Art Quilts using her husband’s ties. I gladly accepted that request and asked Wendy to go ahead and send me the ties. The ties arrived a few days ago. I’ve been thinking of how to best make use of those ties and hope I do them justice. I’ll be posting pictures of those as I proceed through this process. I’ve pulled about half of them apart, shopped for some fusible interfacing that I will use to stabilize them before cutting and sewing them into an art quilt. If anyone has a design idea, feel free to comment to this posting.
In the meantime, THINK SPRING!
