I purchased a panel of Batik Elephants from Judy Gula at Artistic Artifacts some time ago. It has been hanging on my design wall for awhile. The other day, I was reading Judy's blog where she described the workshop she had at Houston earlier this month. http://www.artisticartifacts.com/blog/
My son's girlfriend dropped a very strong hint of how nice those elephants would look at her house. And since Christmas is just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to play with the elephant panel. Working from my stash, I auditioned a number of my handpainted backgrounds, but none seemed to work. Then I came across the grey and thought it would work. The green is probably a little too bright, but I thought with it would work as an accent.
I'm soooo glad I didn't have to use the panel of 12 elephants (which was my original plan) to make a single pillow. Now that I see how they can be used separately, I will dig deeper into my other painted panels to see if I can use them with the remaining elephants.
Thanks, Judy, for the great idea!
