....since I posted. I've been away at the AQS Show in Lancaster. It was a nice show and I love the City of Lancaster. The show will be held there one more year and they are in negotiations for after that. This show does great things for the city of Lancaster. I hope they are able to re-negotiate. Even though they use more than the space at the Marriot for classroom space, that is a good thing because one might not be aware of the cafes, ice cream shoppes and other great finds in the downtown area.
The quilts were wonderful and the vendors were busy.
I took an Ink-lique' (Ink-li-kay) class with Sherry Rogers-Harrison. She provide quilted 14" squares for students to embellish with ink pens and paint. It's amazing the different interpretations students had for the same block. We used gel pens and identa-pens. It reminded me of the old paint by number kits I used as a kid. It was great to know that fabric will accept this ink and special care is required after you finish your coloring. I can't wait to stitch up some of my own designs and use this technique to enhance them. Other ideas for using this technique are rolling around in my head, waiting to be applied.
My husband and I also had a wonderful time at my sister's house on Saturday. Seeing her family and my brother and his new fiance' and son brought me great pleasure. It also made me feel old seeing her kids growing into mature (?) adults and starting families of their own. I love all of you!
