"Out of Nowhere"

My resolution to start and finish an art quilt every month in 2011 was slow starting. I purchased some hand-dyed embroideries from Judy at Artistic Artifacts before Christmas. I also purchased some Japanese kimono scraps at the Philadelphia Mancuso Quilt Show in September. I had these pieces hanging on my design wall long enough, so I added some of Jane Sassaman's florals, pieces of a silk scarf, some silk flowers, and a few odd "inchies". I put them on one of Judy's hand dyed backgrounds and came up with the artful wall hanging, "Out of Nowhere". I hope I get a little more inspiration this month.

Thanks, Viv. I'm taking on-line class with Lyric Kinard for the next three weeks. Whew! I don't know if I can keep that up. It's alot of work. But I will try and atleast get the February art quilt started.

Just lovely, Kathy! I love how you used your various elements and fabrics in this. Such fun, seeing and reading about what others come up with!!!

Thank you, Michele. It was fun to do. It's true what they say about "enjoy the journey".

Sure, Judy. I'll bring it with me on Saturday if that is okay? It still needs a label but I should be able to do that between now and then.
