Mike, Gracie, Joe, Maureen, Pat, Jeff, Andrew and I met at Great Falls Park in Maryland yesterday. What I thought would be a leisurely walk on the C&O Canal turned into a challenging climb on the rocks of Billy Goat Trail. I’ve lived in the Washington area all of my life and have never been to this part of Great Falls Park.
The rain had subsided, but the sky was still overcast as we set out down the trail to the scenic overlook of the falls. Memories of jumping into the water from Virginia and swimming across the river to Maryland kept us entertained as we ventured down the Billy Goat path…..hmmm…..now where was that cliff, Mike???
