Jane Sassaman Was Here!!

After school started I knew I would find more time spent in the studio. Well, it just hasn’t happened, unless you want to call buying a baby quilt kit and putting that together, studio time. My “Red Skies in the Morning” appliqué piece is still on the design wall and I was hoping I could finish that up after my workshops with Jane Sassaman. It’s calling to me to finish it. I’m coming…..I’m coming……….

I just spent the most wonderful two days in workshops with Jane Sassaman. http://janesassaman.com/home.html where I learned new ways to include machine appliqué in my art quilts. Jane is an amazing quilt artist and she encouraged the class to explore all of the wonderful stitches on their sewing machines. Jane gave us all permission ‘to play’ away the day. It was fun to see what new stitches the students found on their machines and a new fun way to use them. If Jane is ever in your area, please try and attend her workshops. My pieces are works in progress, but I WILL most definitely finish them.
