A Happy End to a Busy Day

June 16, 2010
Do you ever have one of ‘those’ days??? I was having one of those days yesterday until I received a nice surprise in the mail. I received a note from Wendy. If you remember, Wendy is the woman in New Jersey who sent me her dad’s ties to make ALZ quilts for Ami Simms fund raising effort ( http://alzquilts.org/ ). Wendy sent me the most charming note. She said that the quilts I made for her and for Doris have been appreciated not just by them, but by the retirement community where her mother and Doris reside. She and Doris had the opportunity to show my handiwork and to talk about the Alzheimer’s Association and Alzquilts.org with the residents of the Retirement Community. Their discussion was videocast and aired throughout the entire retirement community. Wendy enclosed a DVD of that video recording for me to keep. Doris and Wendy, if you are reading this, thanks for making my day end on such a happy note! And also thanks to both of you for spreading the word that quilters are doing their part to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. I love you both.
