My design wall is a mess right now. I have many unfinished projects hanging on it and just can't stand when that happens. I made a promise to myself years ago to not let UFOs hang around too long. I finally decided that a piece that had been on the wall over 6 months would not be finished. I went as far as I could with it and it still wasn't turning out the way I had hoped. I folded it up and put it away. I'll probably recycle it to another art quilt, but now is not the time.
So I moved on to the blocks of the month that my guild is doing. We are to make two blocks every month from the "Patchwork Village" book. The big reveal is in September. Here is where I stand with mine right now. Most of the fabric I'm using was donated to our Playgroup.
I'm thrilled to be able to use them. I won't leave them in this arrangement. It will be tough to find the "right" fabric for sashing. I've enjoyed doing something a little more structured, but I think the creative aspect is still there because I'm choosing the fabrics!
