Read All of the Instructions First!

Seems like ages ago that I started this little leaf. I wrote about it last March when I thought I was close to completing it. I used rusted fabric for the leaf, variegated thread for the veins, foil on the small green squares and lots of quilting (pebbles) on the green background. Then the pattern suggested putting a bead in each of those pebbles! That is why it took so long to complete. I never would have made those stones so small if I knew each one would require a single seed bead. I guess that's what they mean when they say to read the entire instruction before beginning. I'm happy with the results and I've gotten pretty good at adding beads after quilting the quilt.

It turned out beautifully. It looks like all those little beads were worth the effort.
