It's All in the Lighting

I took two pictures for a challenge I'm entering a Mixed Media Metallics Challenge at Artistic Artifacts. After finishing my submission, "Goblins and Ghosties and Long-Legged Beasties", I needed to take a picture of it to go along with the paperwork it requires.

The background is a hologram-type fabric. I took the first picture outside in natural light.

You can clearly see the holographic ghosts in this picture. I didn't like that picture so I took another, this time indoors without the flash.

 

This is more what it looks like. It's amazing the difference the light makes. This is the one I'll use to go with my submission. If you look close you'll see the pumpkin is made with metal zippers, the caterpillar is made of snaps and hook/eye closures and two small beads, and the spider web is drawn with metallic ink.

 

FYI Artists were given the choice to have their work returned to them when the challenge is over, February 8, 2014 or allow them to be used in a silent auction to benefit Food for Others. I decided to let this piece go to the Silent Auction. So if you are in the DC area between January 18 and February 8, 2014, go to Artistic Artifacts and bid on this.....Please!
