"Tidewater"

I had a busy Tuesday but still managed to get this piece finished. I gave up a program at my local guild on Reverse Applique (my favorite) so I could finish this piece. The creative juices were flowing well yesterday and I just didn't want to stop.

You might remember that I have taken on-line classes with Ellen Lindner ( http://adventurequilter.com/blog/ ). One of them involved using gel medium and cut fabrics and applying them to a framed artist canvas. I have had this frame with batiks glued to the edges in hopes of using it to frame an art quilt someday. Yesterday was the day. I've been working on my homework for Art Quilts 101 and the assignment was to use one of four design categories in an art quilt. I have a number of painted pieces in my stash. This is one where I used a paint stick and rubbed it on a piece of cloth that I laid on my patio table. The grid in the table is what came through with the rubbing. I had leftover pieces of fused green leaves that I applied and then came the house and stone walkway. That has been sitting on my design wall since getting the assignment in early August. I quilted it yesterday. And when I was straightening up the studio, I uncovered the canvas. It was begging to see the light of day again and screaming, "use me! use me!" and it was perfect. Can you tell me what design category it falls under? (Hint: Symmetrical, Assymtrical, Radial or Chrystallographic)
