The Celebration Begins

I think this will be a birthday year to remember in more ways than one. I celebrate one of those big "0" birthdays this week. My family gathered to help me celebrate it a couple weekends ago. We had a nice picnic in a park near where we grew up. It was a good idea to reserve the room at the Nature Center as the weather was threatening and it was sticky and hot. AC and bathrooms are important as one grows older!

We closed down the Nature Center and proceeded to take a walk in the park. Ohhhh, the memories that walk held. Afterwards we drove to Wolf Trap National Park for an evening concert with the Steve Miller Band. They haven't changed much since the 1980's and sounded good as ever. I really enjoyed that day.

Last night my grandson and I attended the Nats/Braves game. A game that was to begin at 7:00 p.m. was delayed an hour due to rain. The crew was ready and waiting to unroll the ground cover when we arrived at the stadium.

The game went into extra innings (13) with the Nats coming out ahead 5-4. Whew!!! Here are some pics of my favorite players. Well, heck ALL of them are my favorite players!

I've got "0" birthday coming up too! I haven't figured how I want to celebrate.

Jean(ie), the celebration is not over yet. We head for a week at the beach on Sunday.

And since I couldn't get to Houston (something I've got on my bucket list), I signed up for a three day workshop with Susan Brubaker Knapp in the mountains of North Carolina (Asheville area) the first week of October.

So don't plan for just a one-day celebration. Let it spread throughout your year.
