Leaf Bowls

Since my last post, I went to the Quilt Show in Hershey, Pa. I was soooo impressed by the many wonderful quilts on display there. They were some of the nicest I've seen at any show I have attended. There was a good mix of art quilts and traditional quilts, hand sewn and quilted and machine sewn and quilted. They were beautiful. It was a good trip, but I will have to consider going and spending the night next time. It was a little far to do in one day and get the most out of it.

When I came home I looked over my quilting to do list. There has been an item on it since last January when the temps were much colder. I purchased all of the supplies so I would be ready to make them when I saw a little free time in my day. I made time this week and made three leaf bowls. They were great fun and suggest you try it. They would make wonderful gifts, don't cha think? The Pattern is from Poorhouse Quilt Designs. ( www.poorhousequiltdesigns.com ) I used a number of my hand painted 'rejects' from a class I took last fall. I knew I would find a use for them someday! I'm really pleased with the results.

Even the bottom of the bowls turned out nice.
