New Year Resolution Time

I've been giving it some thought. Wheels 3 has been on the design wall for awhile now. It needed something. I just couldn't figure out what it was. And then I had one of those Ta Daaa! moments.

Back in November I was the lucky (or not so lucky) winner of a basket of fabric at a local guild's fund raiser. I bid on it because it had such lovely Lonni Rossie fabrics inside. What I didn't notice was the not-so-new fabric that lay underneath those Oriental-looking jewels. I was going to re-donate those fabrics but that basket sat in my studio long enough for me to think about that again. You have to understand these fabrics are not something an art quilter would use in one's art quilts. They are the folksy, crafty fabrics that were "cute" when I started quilting and could make a lovely child's quilt. They have lost their appeal to me.....until.....I decided to create a New Year personal challenge--I'm going to try and use at least a piece of them in every quilt I make in 2012, until they are gone. I will allow myself to use the tiniest of pieces so as to meet my challenge. Once you see the fabric, you will understand how difficult it will be for me to use up all of that fabric! So let the New Year begin!!!!!

Now, back to the Ta Daaa moment I began this post with. Wheels 3 is finished. Can you spot some of that 'folksy' fabric in it? I think it was just what it needed. Funny how that worked out. This challenge may be easier than I thought!
