When I heard my friend, Beverly, had a piece in this exhibit I just had to go see it. The "3rd Annual New Works: Faculty, Students and Staff Exhibition" runs through January 29. The exhibit is very nice and Beverly's piece is wonderful. I couldn't take any pictures of the pieces of art since there were signs prohibiting it, but take my word for it, it is worth the trip over to Lorton to see it. In addition to paintings, there is glasswork, sculpture, beadwork, fiber art and much more.
My grandson and I each purchased a kaleidescope after seeing them in the artist's gift shop and studio. I purchased the one that is carved out of wood and that you have to manually turn the egg to get the kaleidescope shapes to change.
My grandson purchased the dragonfly with the the two tubes protruding from one end and with a metal dragonfly crafted on top.
I tried real hard to get pictures of the views of each one and these pics just don't do them justice.
Please do try and get over to the Lorton Workhouse Arts center at 9601 Ox Road, Lorton, Virginia. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks for your comment and vote on my piece in the Quilt Gallery.
I've had a longtime "affair" with kaleidoscopes. I've never seen any like the cross-swords one before. Thanks for sharing.
