I was able to spend a small amount of time sewing this morning as I awaited the arrival of the bathroom remodelers. I'm almost finished with the top of the third quilt made from the ties that Doris and Wendy sent me. As you may recall, Jerry, Doris' husband is suffering from Alzheimer's. She mailed me some of his ties to make three quilts for her and the rest of the ties are to be used for Ami Sims Alzeimer's Quilt Initiative ( alzquilts.org ) I know this art quilt is similar to the first, but this time I put the labels from the back of the ties on the brushes. It's been fun to make these quilts and to challenge myself to come up with ideas for using all of the ties in each quilt. I hope I can be creative when it comes to making the remaining quilts for Ami Sims.
