What to Do on This Rainy Weekend?

Plans to attend my grandson's baseball tournament have been cancelled. It's raining again. I think this has been the rainiest summer ever. We have had fewer practices and games due to rainouts. BUT that is okay this weekend as it is the opening weekend for the Sacred Threads exhibit at Floris Methodist Church in Herndon.

I mentioned in earlier posts that my "Happy" quilt is part of this exhibit. I went to the Preview of the Show the other night. Lisa Ellis and her Committee (and all of the exhibitors) have outdone themselves once again. Did  mention to bring your cell phone to this exhibit? If you do, you can listen to the artist as she describes the process of making her quilt. In addition to seeing the quilts, you can purchase the book that has all of the quilts and their artist statements.  You can also purchase an audio SD card and video card that you can plug into your computer and listen to and see the quilts when you get home. It's amazing how wonderful the art of quilting is using technology to spread the news. Artist in Residence is Vikki Pignatelli and she is conducting lectures and workshops over the two weeks of the exhibit. She is also the founder of this Exhibit. If you appreciate quilts, this exhibit is not to be missed. More information can be found at www:/sacredthreadsquilts.com
