Spring Quilt Challenges

With all of the baseball this Spring, I decided to participate in two challenges that are due this summer. I know, I know, I should have my head examined.

The first challenge is called Infinite Divisibility. Jennifer Weilbach is the organizer and she took the challenge to the Monday Playgroup members. About 30 participants showed up with their black and white fabrics ready to exchange.  Here are the fabrics I randomly picked.

Pretty boring, huh? I will probably add some bright, colorful, gradated hand-dyed fabric to go with this. It will definitely be a CHALLENGE!
The piece must be bound in black binding and measure 24"X30" Vertical when completed. I've got some ideas churning in my head. Deadline is August 4.

I went shopping last week and found the Hoffman Challenge fabric.

I'm in the midst of deciding what to do with it. Deadline for submission is not until summer, but that will be here before I know it. What do you think I should do with this?

While shopping,  I also saw a store display quilt that I just love. So I sat down and designed one similar to it and I plan to use all of those Africa and Australia fabrics I have been collecting. And yes, Julia, if you are reading thist, I'm going to put your fabrics in this quilt, too.

I recently added a new Koala cabinet to my sewing studio and had to order the insert to fit my sewing machine. Unfortunately, it will be 6-8 weeks before it is delivered. I will have to put three quilts waiting to be quilted back on the shelf until that piece arrives.

Thank you for reading this and I hope Spring is happening where you live!
