My husband and son are celebrating their birthdays today. June is a busy month for me beginning with their birthday celebrations.
My grandson graduates from elementary school in 11 days. His birthday is four days later. Then there's Father's Day in there somewhere. My grandson's baseball team has double headers scheduled for the remaining weekends in June. Whew! this month should fly by!
Another grandson is staying with us this summer as he interns at an office in D.C. It's nice to have him here as we didn't see much of him while he was growing up. It's fun getting to know him. You can't imagine the housecleaning it made us do to make room for him. Sadly, we disposed of all of our bicycle cue sheets, maps and lodging information that we collected over the 10 years of tandem bike riding. But it was time for it to go.
My quilting has taking a vacation with the exception of a little fusing. I took a class with Laura Wasilowski (Chicago School of Fusing) about a month ago. Although I haven't finished the class project yet, I managed to take the refreshed fusing skills to embellish one of those 1600 inch quilts I made last winter. I've also prepped and quilted a batik panel so I can bead it. That should make a good travel project as I sit at all of those double-headers this month.
Before closing this post, let me say "Happy Birthday, Dick and Jeff!"
