Horse Shoe Crab in the Morning

So here is a picture of my quilt that is finally finished....except for the hanger and label. It is the result of a class with Elizabeth Barton that I wrote about in previous blogs. It is derived from a photo I took while taking a morning walk on the beach last summer. There was much discussion in my on-line class as to the correct direction the crab should be facing. Going against my teacher's advice and artistic balance principals, I thought it more best to have it facing the ocean, as if returning to its home. Was I right or wrong?
