This N That

I've been working on a number of things this week. I tried using Citra-Solv to transfer some pictures to cloth and found I must be using the wrong copier. I'll have to take Lyric Kinard's advice and take a cotton ball soaked in Citra-Solv and a piece of cloth with me to the copy center and check to see if the picture transfer works before making 50 copies of pictures. Lesson learned!

I put a border, binding and sleeve on "Fractured Lily" and she is done and ready to hang on the wall. I did the same thing for "Wheels 2".

I participated in the Sixth Grade Committee meeting for the bingo fund raiser to be held in January. Oh, what did I get myself into????? I can see myself in the upcoming weeks with making phone calls, collecting volunteer names and producing a matrix for volunteers, jobs and schedule. I'm happy to be helping out, but I am a little rusty on my organization skills. Wish me luck.

Ooops, almost forgot. I picked this little quilt up at a local Thrift Shop for $3.50!!! I plan to take the polyester batting out and replace it with cotton, but before doing that, I hope to play with a little paint in those, oh-so-boring plain squares and sashing. After I get it basted back together again, I won't be quilting it with those blue ribbons. I plan to use some of Leah Day's background block designs to dress it a little. I think this is the perfect quilt to practice all of that I have learned in my embellishment classes the past few years.
