Perfect Beach Weather

I don't know how we did it, but we managed to have one perfect weather week at the beach last week. After a day's delay due to our home power being out 24 hours, we managed to arrive at the beach to sunny skies, running water and electricity! Not exactly what I expected, but it was a nice surprise. Special thanks go to my sister, Pat, who came from Myrtle Beach to housesit and watch "Doc".

We spent a number of lazy days on the beach, visited Assateague National Seashore Park and even made a trip up to Rehoboth before coming home.

Food was good, days were lazy...did I say that already?? No computer, no internet, no demands, no commitments, no challenges.....did I say how nice it was to relax??

We made up for it on the day of our return. We rose early to drive home to be there for the first pitch of our grandson's Fall season scrimmage game at noon. They played a double header and won one and lost one. Talk about a pooped troop. I could barely keep my eyes open during dinner Sunday night. It was a good week, even with all of the crazy weather and myriad of activities.

School starts tomorrow...the backpack is loaded with all the new supplies, the dresser is filled with new clothes, the shoes are polished and ready to wear....well not exactly polished, but they are clean and ready to wear. Now I hope I have no problems getting my grandson up in time in the morning.
The routine will return tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that.

It is so very nice to see that you had a lovely week at the beach after such a week of upheaval weatherwise!! It was really wild around here wasn't it???!! I see that you have a quilt in the Power Suit challenge- I actually drove mine up to Judy the day before the deadline. I had to get some help putting on a proper hanging sleeve!! I have done lots of art quilts but none that have been in a proper quilt show so I was CLUE less!!!

Hi Elizabeth, I can't wait to see all of the quilts in the challenge. I'm sure yours is creatively spectacular. Stay dry today and enjoy your playtime!
