More on Zentangling

I really enjoyed making the zentangle quilt from the class I took in the winter. I thought it best to make another one before I forgot the technique. So as not to infringe on copyrighted drawings of others, I decided to use the design I used last year to create my Vogue 2 Challenge quilt. It is derived from a picture I took of the camellias on the bush outside my front door. Here is a picture of the two quilts side by side.

I was sitting in a lecture this week where Wendy Butler Burns was speaking. She said everything I wanted to hear and validated the journey I've taken with my art quilts. I decided to continue with a series of quilts depicting my camellias in different ways, using different techniques and embellishments. I don't know why it took me so long to figure out what working in a series was, but I'm glad I finally figured it out.
