Mixed Media Metallics Art Exhibit at Artistic Artifacts January 18- February 8.

It's finally here! Remember back in the Fall, I posted a picture of my pumpkin made with zippers? (You can find it by clicking on 2013 quilts in the right margin and then scroll down to the October 25 entry) That piece along with more than 90 other art quilts, collages, pieces of jewelry and more will be on display beginning with the Artist Reception on Saturday, January 18 through Saturday, February 8 at Artistic Artifacts, 4750 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia ( www.artisticartifacts.com ) . Many of the items are included in a silent auction benefitting Food for Others, so this is an opportunity to own a one of a kind piece of art while doing good for the community!

Admission to the exhibit is a requested contribution of non-perishable food, which will be collected and donated to Food for Others, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization whose mission is to obtain and distribute free food to the hungry of Northern Virginia and to support food programs of other community-based organizations.

Guest curator of the Challenge is Diane Herbort, a nationally-known quilter/fiber artist and teacher ( www.dianeherbort.com)

If you are in the Northern Virginia area, spread the word to your family, co-workers,  and friends. Don't miss this opportunity to own a one of a kind piece of art and to see the wonderful interpretations of the theme.
I hope to see you there!
